I don't think we have had Covid. We both got a slight 'cold' after arriving in Hawaii. Slight sore throat and congestion - some coughing - kicked it in 4 days. We did not test due to the minor nature of the symptoms.

Relaxation is going to have to wait. School is ending (2 1/2 days, but who’s counting?), Camp is starting in two weeks, hubby is finally able to get in the field, and I still need to get my garden planted.

So, I got an Embark DNA test done on Pixel. I wanted to get the health testing done, just to be sure she didn't have something like Multi Drug Sensitivity. They of course also test for breed. I will admit I was starting to get suspicious because her ears are pretty big, and her face is pretty rounded. And the breeder kept one other breed.

Guess who was right? Pixel's half Mini American Shepherd, and half the other breed, sigh. Anyway I contacted the breeder and she was really horrified and offered a refund, which she said she'd send in a week or two.

So here's my mutt, haha. Can you guess which other breed she is?

Oh she is way cute. I might be biased, lol, but I've had tons of people tell me she is really cute. My friend who grooms her wants to steal her, haha.

Mildly worried about all the CKC health issues, and she did inherit the IVDD gene that most CKC carry, so I'll have to be watching for that. But the breeder's male is heart clear for several generations, and she is half MAS, so fingers crossed no heart issues.

They say that a mix will usually wash most of those breed specific issues off the table.

2 more days of school. My co-teacher has been really sick, so it's a little bittersweet ending the year by myself with subs next door.
Tomorrow I take both classes on a hike. Lots of parents going, so hopefully I won't lose any!
