Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

My big guy turns five on the 8th of next month, I can't believe he's that old. He is without a doubt my favorite, he's never once tried to spur me or any nieces or nephews. I've actually never seen him fight another roo either but he is without a doubt top dog, keeps the peace well. He's an awesome rooster. His hatch mates is no longer laying but she gets to stay. Lol. Man he has some sharp spurs.
(And yes, he was perching on my hand without me holding him, sweet guy when you can catch him. Lol)

I have one!!! And those three blue laced red EE'S, that are broody, also his daughters. 😂🤦‍♂️ And he's gorgeous too! Ok technically he's line bred I guess you'd call it, his mom was also my BLRWs daughter, so a double dose of great genetics. Lol. His momma was a splash EE, I believe HER mom was a partial blue laced EE from a hatchery. But either way he's gorgeous too. And also does not pick fights and has yet to think about spurring me. He's a little over a year. Broody raised. On a side not, he has neither rosecomb nor peacomb, it appears he's got so many mixed comb genes he ended up with cushion. 😂🤔

Yes, please! I have had one broody so far. I gave her 6 eggs three weeks ago. When I candled them on day 7, she had five eggs, three on Monday, and an empty nest today. Next time I have a broody, I may just let her set on fake eggs and break out the incubator.

Let's see, I have two hens with chicks, I had a broody polish, all three of my BLRW EEs are broody, some of their half sisters have been broody,a few random EEs have been broody. All my stupid khakis have been broody, some of my anconas and nearly all the geese so far this year.

One of my broody's with chicks is actually a leghorn, this is her second or third brood and she's only 2.5
