The turkey coma is setting in around here. The water is on for tea and we're all trying to find room for dessert, of which there is WAY too much! There's at least 3, maybe 4 pies and my two aunts are coming over too so who knows what they'll bring with them lol.
Same here. 3 pies and a chocolate mousse ladyfinger cake? await consumption.

Happy Thanksgiving, Pond.

Enjoy. Sadly this tends to happen less frequently as they dare to have their own lives.
Very true!!! I was highly aware that last Christmas was most likely the last one with all 5 boys, turns out i was right!

But I worked had to super enjoy and savor every minute.

It is wonderful though, to see them grow. I am so amazed at how excellent my kids have turned out. They all love us and each other. They are all good, kind, and wonderful human beings. I am impressed!!!

Though I miss them, I also enjoy watching them grow.

Clearly they were raised right.

Once my sons got married and had other families to work around, I knew holidays would be different. Then they had kids and wanted to establish “their own Christmas traditions”. (The nerve!)
I have a friend who once told me how much she hated the holiday season because she and her husband were expected to show up at various relatives homes just about every weekend. They had 4 small kids at the time, and it was very stressful for them. I decided I didn’t want to be “that” mother in law, so I tell the DILs, “Yiu figure it out. Just let me know when to be where and what to bring.” We don’t need to have Christmas on Christmas, but I’d like it sometime within 30 days on either side of the actual day.
