We will not have eldest... but the other 4, and new bride, will be here.

Hello, Pond!
Paddling through, trying to catch up. It’s been a bit.
@pennyJo1960 - Sorry to hear that DH has been in the hospital. I’m glad you get to bring him home tomorrow.

@Ladies-Eight - I hope you solve the mystery of the missing chickens. We lost a few last month. DH usually locks the chickens up at night. He doesn’t count them. I do when I lock them up. Anyway, one evening when I was at the coops, I thought it looked like we were missing some birds. When I counted, there were 8 fewer than the last time. We kept them penned for a few weeks, didn’t notice any activity, so one day DH decided to let them out. The coops are close to his shop and he was planning on working out there that day. They hadn’t been out very long when he heard a ruckus. He saw a big orange cat attacking one of my hens. He yelled at it, and it actually tried dragging the chicken off when it ran away. I have never seen or heard of a domestic cat attack an adult chicken before. DH was quite surprised, too. Suffice it to say, it won’t be having any more chicken dinners.

Life is good here. We’re getting a little snow tonight. Just a dusting.
