Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

We had a winter wonderland yesterday with the first snow of the year. We had 4-6" in our area. Both DH and DS made it home safe from work, up and over the mountain. Both of their cars are front wheel drive with no snow tires (prius and civic) so I was worried about them. There were quite a few accidents and lots of cars stuck apparently. I refused to go anywhere. DH made DD drive him down to town after he got home for some winter snow driving practice. She has her license but never really drove in the snow. They took an AWD and she did good :)

Nice wonderland photos! :clap

Hey Pond Folks, taking time to drive where DH is at the hospital.
He is my one and only.
4 pages behind from days we drive to him.
Sun is out here today hope it stays that way.
Yes, nicer to drive in good weather with good visibility.

:hugs

What is the prognosis?

DH rarely takes an AWD unless he knows it's going to be very bad out. He knows how to handle his prius in the snow lol. That thing has been beaten and abused though, hit by a jeep, hit by a deer and now is slowly starting to die but it has something like 225K miles. I'm pushing him to get something AWD for his next car just to be safe. DS just got his civic this summer. We tried to get him to look at AWD stuff but he liked the civic and was stubborn. He had always had access to one of our AWD cars before so never had to handle snow without before. I had told him that he could take the Kizashi that day but there was absolutely nothing on the ground when he left so he figured he'd be fine... live and learn! Thank God his tires have decent tread. He did go order snow tires for his car immediately after his experience though lol.
