I'm back on my lily pad, and life is looking brighter. Power is back, cable is back, and insurance co. is sounding positive about our losses due to a power surge/brownout.

Hello, Pond!
Happy 4th of July!!!
It’s hot here. We were in a heat advisory yesterday. Of course that’s the day that my mom’s AC went out. I did not know this until she came over at 7:30 in the evening. (I had the two local grandkids all day, so didn’t have a chance to call her.) She told me that it just didn’t feel like it was blowing cold air, and then went on to tell me how as the day went on, she just kept getting more and more tired. (Heat exhaustion?) Anyway, she ended up spending the night here and will stay at our house until the weather cools down. My mom loves the heat (she gets cold when the temperature plunges below 80), so she doesn’t recognize dangerous heat.
