Well, things are coming along... I planned to be moved by now, but more things need to be done

I DID manage, on that nice warm day we had, to get almost all of my plants dug up and transfered out to the house!!! I'm in the process of getting them into the ground as we speak. I'm so glad that I got them up and out before we move. I'd have cried if the next people to get the house had just threw them out for something else or just straight out killed them.

I will take pics today and post when I get home tonight... OMG you won;t believe the transformation!!!!! The house is really changing

Here is the Living/Dining room floor after sanding but before staining..... We used like 10 big containers of Peroxide to get the stains up.. worked GREAT!!!! And also bubbled the crud out of the cracks and it doesn't even smell anymore

New dining/livingroom color. Faux finish called elephant hide.... made with tissue paper and paint. I'll get a better picture when I'm done with my final coat

This is the number one reason that we cannot move yet

Unbelievable! What a job you are doing. I am definately remembering the peroxide trick. We went through a similar scenario with my Uncle who was bipolar and his "lovely xxxxx" girlfriend. He died suddenly and it was such a mess.

Wow, wow, wow!!!! It is amazing what paint and alot of hard work can do. I love the livingroom color. Those corner cabinets just pop with that new color. The dental molding above the kitchen sink is precious. You can certainly be proud of your results.

Hey nice job. T he green in the boy's room is the same green my daughter has in her living room. When she first painted it I was like really that color. I love it now, to the point I bought the paint to paint my living room that color.

You walk in her house and no matter what kind of rotten day or how you are feeling in five minutes you feel so relaxed and carefree it is unreal. Nice color choice.

Congrats on the honey as well. If you are having problems straining it contact your local extenstion and have them set ya up with a local bee keeper to help you out.

Okay, so I just saw this thread and WOW

I just read through every page and looked at all the pages and I am so glad everything has worked out for you both. One word of caution...keep an eye out on all of your personal information. If your BIL did it once, he'll do it again and this time to you...I speak from experience. My uncle and his wife took all of my dad's information and opened up all these credit cards in his business's name (long story short, my grandfather's business that the two of them inherited and my aunt kept the books) and then put their address on it and never paid anything. They also never paid taxes and when the irs caught up with the business and my mom and dad found out about everything the total debt was over $100000. It was insane...they had to take out an equity loan on their house (that was almost paid off) to pay for everything. Now they (aunt and uncle) have lost their own house...it was sold at auction the day the bank took it over...and have moved in with my grandmother. We are scared to death that they are going to do the same thing to her.

All I am saying is keep a close eye on all your financial stuff to make sure there are no funny things happening.

On a lighter note, congrats on all your hard work!!! Looks great so far!
