Well it finally happened

We moved to our new home and everything was hunky dorey. Big girls enjoy their coop and run, (22 weeks old) and some started chicks at 6 weeks old. Today a hawk swooped in the grow out pen and got 2. Of course it was 2 of my favorite chicks, a two cocks. A BR and a mix.

Guess I'm off to TSC to get some deer netting.

Sorry for your loss. We lost 2 and rescued 1 from the hawk before she was hurt. We bought orange plastic fence from Lowes to cover our chicken run. It has kept the hawk out. Plus we bought a rooster for added protection for our ladies.
