Definitely a cockerel with that much comb and wattle development at 9 weeks. This is my 17 week BO pullet.

Rooster, that happened to me once, I bought 3 Buffs that were supposed to be hens. Two of them got the idea that crowing, growing large combs and spurs, breeding other hens, and getting long saddle feathers, was a good idea. I sold one, but the other still won't lay eggs, I wonder why?

I have an olive Egger I purchased from Meyers Hatchery as a day old pullet. She grew up, laid a few eggs then decided she'd rather be a rooster. She crows, albeit not very well. She occasionally mounts other hens, although she can't do the same deed the rooster does. And she bosses other hens around. Yeah it's annoying.

I bought a pullet from tractor supply company… Actually four of them… I noticed right away that one of them had waddles and combs sooner than the rest… Eight weeks later... she actually Cockle doodle doo'd this morning???? I'm pretty sure she is a rooster lol Is it possible for hens to crow?

The same thing happened to me. I bought 10 pullets from Tractor Supply. Henrietta matured a lot quicker than the others and started crowing a couple months ago. Her new name is Henry.

The buff orpington is a hen

I have 4 buffs. Three look just like this, but one has hardly any comb. None of the Buffs crow, but I do have a Black Australorp that was supposed to be a hen that has a large comb and wattle. He/she crows day and night.
