Okay, I can't resist. I write articles and just did one on catching chickens with kids. If this kind of thing isn't allowed, just delete my post but I thought I'd share.

I just recently had to do a snatch and grab after dark on one of my own skittish chickens. I thought she might be egg bound, but turns out she's not.

OK so another update on the girls

They are doing great! I really like the names Lucky and Clover so I think thats what Im gonna call them. I left them in a cage in the shed with my 4 other chickens for a few days and I let them out together yesterday. No fighting really. They all pretty much got along with each other! Which is great! And I bet Satan (my only rooster) is just loving having 2 more ladies lol

Here is a pic of them that I took tonight. They were all getting ready for bed. The 2 new girls are on the left and Satan is to the right. And Salmon, Hattie, and Mary are even further to the right lol but they arent in the pic sorry! I cant wait for these girls to start laying eggs!!!

So glad you took them in and have room to keep them! They look like really sweet pullets. Sometimes animals just show up in our lives under all kinds of circumstances. I am so grateful for folks like you that deal with other peoples problems, and accept the responsibility with out even blinking an eye! Oh, and I have to agree too, that is one really cool looking roo!

Ha! That's a new for me. He's very flashy, as a rooster should be, and I love the crest that doesn't cover his eyes! Got to research now!

Thanks Hes a great roo...hes getting up there in age tho, but he doesnt know that lol

I had them out today. They were running around the yard with the 4 chickens and they were having a ball!! They act like they have been together forever lol. I dont think they are used to having 2 young hens around lol...they had lots of energy compared to my older girls and Satan!
