Well......THE Bill just passed

I heard this morning that even though the bill passed we were still going into a deeper recession. They expect unemployment to raise to 8% The state of Florida and California will be hit especially hard has the housing slump has not bottomed out yet. I also heard it would take until next year before the banks were paid off What was the big rush The way the president talked it was do it now or die. Just another nail in this countries coffin

Where are all the people who lost their houses gone to? I have not heard anything about that! We slipped in by a hair selling our house and buying (my Wonderful Farm!) another one by God's grace. Also it was a company move or there was NO WAY we would have managed it. I feel for everyone who lost their home.

Saw my first story on the news this morning of a family living in a tent. They both got laid off, lost the house and can't get anyone to rent to them because they have bad credit. I suspect there are lots of people moving back in with kin.... just like the old days.

On a happier note.

Maybe if we as a country get serious about alternative energy it will create jobs.

I started this thread and even to me it's depressing.

I still have HOPE for the future and hope you all do too.

Actually, I think a good chunk of the problem is people thinking there's a problem. The super market was full of food and people today. The stores were full of people shopping for Halloween. It's a tough recession, not the 30s all over again. (Remember one of the big problems then was the dust bowl. That was a man caused natural disaster.) We've had floods and storms, but the center of the country still grows food in quantities like those in the 30s would have cried to see.

My cupboard is full, my kids are warm and safe and I'm rocking in my favorite rocker using a wireless system to chat with people all over the country! And, I am gratefully aware that many in this country do not have all of that.... but by the standard of relative poverty even America's poor are rich.
