My Dominique looking EE, Fay, has given me lots of pretty minty eggs. I found 5 all at once when she started. Talk about sneaky! lol
She has since moved out of the rabbit hutch and into the duck box. I did find 2 in the coop!
Anyways... I went to actually eat them today. I had 4 whites from my other girl who just started and 8 mint from Fay.
The first egg was a single yolk. The next 5!!!! were double!!!

They were not abnormally large. I say a Large to XL size and no bigger. But it was a total shock.

Is she going to continue with lots of double yolks or just a fluke from starting out?

Hmmm. You're gonna have to watch that one......sneaky.

In my experience this usually wears off after about 6 months but I have never had one lay 5 doubles in a row. Wow.

5 in a row is a lot of double yolks. I'm sure she will stop laying doubles and go to singles. I haven't had a double yolk in a really long time. Once their machinery gets going, they get more regular.
