How old is your Lavender Orpington? It looks like a cockerel.... Also, could you send the hatchery an email and ask on the red one? I'm very curious, just because they don't carry them! It just looks so similar down to the soft feathering!

I am completely wrong about the hatchery. Maggie May came from MT. Healthy Hatchery, Cincinnati. She is 14 weeks.
The Lavender Orpington is 16 weeks and came from Meyer. Same shipment as the Brahma Roo, Hawkeye.

That makes much more sense. Mt. Healthy does carry Red Orpingtons too! That's what she is then!

Thank you and sorry for the mix up on the batteries....She's not very friendly but I keep working with her.
When I am out with them, the E.E.'s and my SFH, Dottie Boo keep running up and pecking at my legs. They will squat when I reach to hold them and they don't try to run off like others.
Are they wanting my attention? I'm gonna have to wear my boots in this 90 degree heat because I look like I've been abused from the knees down...LOL

The squatting is one sign they’re about to start laying. :D they would do that for a roosters not sure about the pecking. Some of mine are very pecky too lol I think sometimes they are just curious? They investigate with their beaks (mouths) like kids lol sometimes mine will peck freckles or shiny things, etc.

If that lavender orp is 16 weeks it's a pullet.
She's a cutie.

Thank you.

I'm definitely donning boots from now on, I'm looking as though I've been the recipient of a violent BB gun attack..lol
