Well, what do we have here? *Pic Heavy*

If I'm right! I think the one in the photo is Roo, because of the white spot on the head. Pullets don't have the spot on the head.

I sure hope not! This chick was to replace a BR roo I already have! We can't have the boys around here

I picked dark feet and single white spot to try and ensure pullet because i was on the BR track. DARN!

You need to search for other threads about BR chicks, especially ones where SpeckledHen has answered. If I'm remembering correctly, you DO want the dark on the legs, and a nice round head spot, for BR pullets...

Okay well I have 5 barred rock hens and none of them have black on the legs! But my black sex links do?

Would white wing tips be typical in a black sen link? This sucks...they were supposed to be sexed as pullets! My first batch was 4, and 3 of them are probably roos, so we got 3 more from the pullets (they only had pullets), and now I might have another roo?? Darn it, darn it, darn it...not fun explaining to a 5 year old why I have to get rid of her chicks.

That is what I was going off of when I picked because my 2 week old has no black on the legs and splotchy white on its head, and was told here to look for darker legs and only a white spot. Here is my BR that was labeled a roo (taken a week ago):

Slow down, breathe, you don't know what it is for sure yet!

I wouldn't worry just yet either, I could be totally wrong! I would do a search for Barred rocks and see what you come up with, I hope that is.

From my local (Mom & Pop) feedstore I bought 6 barred rock pullets and they all look just like that - black, white spot on the head, white wing tips and some dark spotting on the feet. I'll watch this thread, I want to make sure I have what I think I have!
