I recently got a pair of welsh harlequin ducklings, (First time raising them) but from what I've seen from online pictures I'm not sure if they really are? What does everyone think? They are the darker ones.

** update **

Holly is definitely a boy, he has SUCH a cute little raspy noise, doesn't sound like the Seth either.
Here's some more pictures :) although they are starting to go through their first moult I think (Sethy has lost all of his gorgeous deep red plumage and is now 'whitening' up lol)

We've also just moved house and these guys are loving the place so much that even though their wings are clipped they climb up and over the chicken wire to explore!

Although our Muscovy male Speedy was so massive we decided not to clip him (was told the males won't fly) well! He sure proved wrong today! I actually snapped a shot of him flying over the fence and across the yard which I'll include haha.

Also, both Seth and Holly have been running their bill up and down my arm when I hand feed them, is that like attention seeking or love bites or something weird?

Is this as green as Seth's bill going to get? (don't mind my scary morning face haha)

They don't look like welsh harlequin ducklings to me, the larger dark one looks maybe like a Rouen and the smaller one I don't know. Maybe a runner cause of the mottled coloring?

Welcome to BYC also!

Welcome to,BYC.
I got my WH this year, born in July. When they were babies they were all yellow. They were never that dark brown.

I got mine from Metzgers.

Here's a few pics

They are nice ducks.

These are their parents, those are welsh harlequins right?
I've only had Google images to go off as I've never seen them before, so I have no idea

These are my first ducks too. There is a welsch Harlequin thread with more pictures. You could look there.

My girls have feathered out pretty much like the pictures I posted. They do have blue feathers under the wing area. Not sure what that area is called. But they Definitely have more white.
