Welsh Harlequin

I just found out that the 3 chicks I purchased in April are all drakes!!! SO, I am on the hunt for a female, silver phase. If you have one and are local to me (I'm located in Central IL) let me know.

You can't just get one female... I mean, I guess you can, but you're going to most likely run into serious problems with the males competing for the female and mating with her so much she could get injured (I've heard stories of aggressive males drowning females). Either you need to get rid of some of your drakes (2 most likely) or buy at least 6+ females. Also, I can't assume to know the reason you want a female, but 3 males will be happy together as long as there's no females around.

I have posted (on my FB page) that I have 2 males for sale. I'm only looking for a female or 2. I dont want to get too many. They share a pen with my Pekins.

THis is too far away for you, I'm afraid but Dana at Moose Manor Farms has WH little one.
The welshies she has right now are from Holderead stock.

I have five of her ducks that I got from day old to two weeks old. They are hearty and have lovely temperaments.

Best,

Liz

I looked her up on Google. Her birds look beautiful. But yes, she's a little far. Thank you though.

Woww I'm so sorry guys! I've been soooo busy. I went on vacation. But, oh my Goddess they are so beautiful! I definitely have a beautiful gold phase baby! Eris. :)

The rest are lovely silver phases. Thoth's beak is still dark, but he's definitely a boy. His head is lighter than Erebus's, who has more black feathers on his head. I won't be home for another 3-ish hours. I'll try to upload some good pictures. The babies are nine weeks and two days old today! :) My grandmother says they do make noise, but I haven't noticed too much. Eris is still the loud one.

I have three girls and two boys. I'm getting more girls, but not til August. Will they all be okay unil the new August babies are big enough to share a pen?
