New breed Golden Laced Welandotte

LOL!!

I would be very happy with a partridge Wyandotte....if it was not a cockerel. :(

Whether it's a partridge Wyandotte or a mixed breed, it's a cockerel. See those red patches coming in on the shoulders? Those are sex linked and you can't get them in a pullet. A pullet would have a smooth, all-over pattern instead of a "patchy" pattern like this bird.

Sorry.

It does look a lot like a Partridge Wyandotte cockerel.

Yup.

Quote: Our partridge Wyandotte cockerels (this does look like one) were drop-dead gorgeous and pretty sweet. I'm always wishing pullets on people, but you could do worse! Sorry it's not the girl you were hoping for. We did have to cull our little beauties because we simply had too many boys, but I miss their sleek jewel-toned iridescence and mild personalities. Two were named FredandGeorge and were inseparable.

It's a tough business, being a boy.

Sorry, I'm rambling.

It would have been fine if he had been the only boy, but out of 10 chicks, 7 turned out roos! Now, we just have to decided which little roo gets to stay. Off today to get some (hopefully) pullets. :)
