I have three Welsummers I posted yesterday about them and now have recent pics to show the difference, not only in color(one seems slightly darker in color) and one definitely seems to have a more prominent pinker comb already. However I do not see black on any of their chests which I’ve heard is a cockerel trait. Also they must be molting, all look a little raggedy lol. The one I think is a cockerel even has a bare neck on the back lol. Anyhow any insight is greatly appreciated ♥️♥️ The first three photos are chick #1, the next six are chick #2 and the last three pics are chick number #3(darker in color)

I have been hand raising 3 Welsummer chicks also since March. Chick #1 is a roo, chicks #2 and #3 are pullets. You will absolutely love them, even the roo. They have a very sweet loving nature towards their people. Be sure to work with him every day, you won't be sorry.

Here's a couple pics of my roo and 2 girls, taken back on June 23rd, age 3 1/2 months old in the pics. One of my girls is also darker than the other. :)

Awe yay. Thanks for the input. They seem very docile and sweet. Is that typical to be lighter and darker? I’m so excited. I’ve heard only good things about this breed and the eggs look beautiful!! Thanks again. Share pics of yours if you can!

Omg, you literally just answered all my comments and questions before I sent. Thank you thank you!! You read my mind. They’re beautiful I’m so excited.
I'm so truly happy I could be of help to you. Thanks for the compliment. Of all my chickens, (shhhhh, dont tell anyone, they will get jealous) I really love their personalities and temperaments the most. Standby and I will go snap a pic of some of their eggs for you to see. :)

Oh and! Be careful when you wash them, you will literally wash the spots right off of them. The speckled pigment goes down, at the very last second before they lay their eggs. As you can tell from the pic, some got washed a lil too much. LoL
