They have eggs. Here is their setup.Make the nest a little darker and use fake eggs.
Thank you. With all that the little bugger makes me look all around the yard for her eggs. No way to lock her in there because the feeder and waterer is in the coop and they all go in there to eat and drink.
Nice job on the curtains. Ideal setup.
Not really. They share the coop with the ducks (4) and only go in at night , eat/drink lay eggs. 8’L x 5’Wx6’H. I will extend it in the next month or so to make room for the new batch of chicks. It’s going to be double the size and nesting boxes. Same setup. Is there enough space to lock them all in for a day or two before she gets the idea?
The light spot is the ear cover, ear lobe is below that and barely visible.I don’t see white ear lobes on her though and she is definitely laying brown eggs.
Hello again. I suspected that from the patches of feathers on her feet, which I read that are undesirable for a Wellie. That’s what One gets when she buys from a feed store...I bought two and the other one turned out to be a RIR.The light spot is the ear cover, ear lobe is below that and barely visible.

I'd say that is a very low quality Wellie or a mix.
Some have speckles, some don't....can depend on the 'line'....or they can be sporadic as CC mentioned.
Well there's your sign. Feathered feet, white on the ear, supposedly welsummer, one turned out to be RIR. Mix breed!Hello again.
