I got a sexed Welsummer day old chick. Had the correct head markings for a pullet & of all the birds to get wrong it never occurred to me it would be a Wellie.

3 weeks comb got huge & wattles started coming in. Has some black in the feathers but not like what everyone says roosters get. I’m 99% sure it’s a roo … but it had standard girl markings as a hatchling.

Attached are pics from 3 & 7 weeks. Any chance it’s a girl with a huge red comb? :/

I only ordered 6 chicks. A Whiting True Blue (black with faint lacing), Whiting True Green (cream colored with some darker spots... definitely a cockerel), Couvacures (black with an Elvis hairdo), Cream Legbar (grey with the poof) and a silver laced wyandotte (is not developing the lacing the way it should and I suspect it might be yet another a cockerel)... Do you really think they gave me the wrong breed all together?
I am pretty miffed about potentially half being male :/

At that age the two with the big combs are definitely cockerels. Not sure on the breeds as I’ve never had some of those. If the last one is the Wyandotte I wouldn’t worry about that one quite yet. Where did you order them from?
