welsummer or not?

ok ive googled about 1000's images of sussex, welsummer and rir chicks...on lookin at them i think it might in actual fact be a.....wait for it...rhode island red

...the only odd thing is the little black line near the eye but its smaller each day the chick gets bigger..even the dark patch ontop seems to pop up now and again in the rir chicks

...maybe i was just jumpin the gun abit...that and im a newbie..he he he

especially in production reds , which these are, you will see slight variations in the coloring. I thing you are correct in that the primary difference you are seeing is due to age. (Also roos tend to feather slower but I am sure thats not the issue here

).
