Welsummer

I was told this is a Welsummer pullet (the whole reason we got chicks from him) He got them from Ideal. It looks so similar to my brown leghorn though. I know they look alike. Do you think it really is a welsummer? And really a pullet?

Brown Leghorns and Welsummers look SO similar. About the only way to tell them apart is earlobe color. Leghorn-white, Welsummer-red. I think I see a little bit of pink on your girl, so she may very well be a Welsummer.

I suspect Welsummer cockerel because of the black splotches in the breast.

Chest color is wrong for a wellie pullet and if it were a wellie cockerel, the comb would be much bigger. The body type doesn't look right for a welsummer.

Welsummer pullet in the back, cockerel in the front at about 5 weeks old.
