We purchase about 150 day old layers from the popular hatchery magazines each year and have always had great success. However there are three breeds that I would like to raise on the farm (Welsummers, Columbian Wyndottes, and Blk Copper Marans).
I am guessing that most hatcheries are breeding for quantity and thus may not be the best starter breeding stock. How should I go about finding quality stock (12 hens and an outcross rooster) to start my flock.
Thanks,
Janet
