Drove 1 1/2 hours to the Kankakee Bird swap In Illinois. Started at 5:00 am so we were out there with flashlights till it got light out. Found some stuff I was looking for. I was impressed for the most part. $ 400 later I walked out with a breeder pair of pied peafowl, a three year old white peacock, a pair of swinhoes, a pair of lady amherst, a male mandarin duck, and a dozen mutant ringneck eggs. Some peopel were real reasonable and some guys were way overpriced. Definately going back again!!

Sounds like you had a good time and found some good finds! Peafowl may be in our future later in the year or next year...we are trying to clean out part of our property right now...partially for an aviary! I love Swinhoes...but then again I'm biased

I was there as well,,didn't buy anything, but it's funny to listen to some sellers as to why they arrive at the selling prices they want. One man on the west side was telling people Golden Pheasants sells for $200 a pair,,and some people believed this character!! I have witnessed some of the best lies ever told there,,but if people believe you,,and buys from you, whatever it takes,eh??

Yeah I agree it is funny at times to hear the stuff that comes out of their mouth. I had one guy try to sell me a white three year old peacock for 200. I declined and got one for 100 with a carrier included. I will definately keep going to it though. Much better tgan the one by me
