I promised myself no chicks as my 12 girls are just starting to lay....but these little things peeped "take us home".

Only ducklings we got were white pekins. So I grabbed 8 of those

I have a couple of Mallards and they're wonderful.
They do tend to want to take off if given the opportunity, though.
I can hand feed my Mallards.

Great to know they are friendly. My 3 yr old loves the chickens and I'm hoping the same for the ducklings.

I love ducks! This year, I have chickens though, next year I will probably order ducklings from Holderreads.

We live on a creek and have several wild mallards that we feed in the yard. NO white bread! I give them 5 grain chicken scratch... anyway.... we have been thinking about getting some ducklings that are native to our region, raising them and then letting them go in our creek to have semi-tame different breeds of ducks.
