My TSC ignores me and the wife, they know that we know more about the birds than all but one employee there.

Though we did go to one out of town and they acted kinda snotty, though I wasn't paying attention to what they said and didn't realize it until we left when my wife told me what they said. That would have been bad for me cause I'm a smarta... err I talk back

and I don't care what they think of me.

I'm 19 btw lol

hi goatwalker, im 50 no offence here. I even think its old
smile.png
you should have said to him, no disrespect sir but I have been raising chickens and ducks for 4 or five years and I was just inspecting them. Then the next words he says dictates whether he is nice or an old cranky person. at that point if mean just say sorry you feel that way and do something or walk away. kill them with kindness i say
lol.png
BTW I thought you were older because of your moniker (the crazy duck lady)
tongue.png
OR you could have done what you already did. too bad I wasnt there on YOUR side

I would LOVE to educate some of these people, But this is the only TSC within the nest few cities and I wold hate to give them a cause to be even ruder to me when Im in there alot as it is for feed, parts, and such.

Im the kind of person who believes that not only should children and teens learn from adults but sometimes its ok for adults to learn little things from CHildren and teens.

I just dont see why People would work with or around animals and not know anything about the animals. Its the same with pet stores around here. The employees sometimes dont know the first thing about any of the animals, yet the choose a job where they are surrounded by them .

All I can do is take a penguins advice - "smile and wave, Just smile and wave"

Lol, Thanks! And thats what people at school, church, and around the neighborhood who know me call me. "Crazy duck lady" lol, so I just kind of put both my nicknames together since im also known as the neighborhood "goat walker"

I get irritated when kids are ignored or talked down to simply because of their age. I remember it from when I was a kid and I still see it now. I teach my children to ask for things themselves, so they know how to speak up for themselves, find what they need, pay for things, etc. It infuriates me when employees skip over them as they politely wait their turn and go to the adult behind them or the adult customer pushes ahead of them. That is when I speak up. They are paying customers too and deserve respect as long as they are acting respectful.

Our TSC is a nice store, but they no absolutely nothing about birds and will tell you that. They think bantams are called banty's and that is their actual breed name. I heard one employee tell a customer they needed a rooster to get eggs and then sell them a meat bird to go with their pullets.

I have thought about talking to the manager, as she is pretty nice and we get along and see if she wants a crash course for her employees.

Goat Walker, I think you handled it just fine. I have done the same, sometimes it is easier not to argue, just nod and smile.

I like to make people's eyes glaze over and watch the drool when I am talking about my ducks.

I like to see how long it takes before they start trying to politely change the subject.
