I have been looking for a duck for about 2 weeks and have called every were I can think of and no one has any ducks I live around charlotte tn if any one knows were I can find a duck I would really appreciate any information

Thank you

Feedstores usually have them. There are also lots of hatcheries online you can order from. Also craigslist....

I would go to your state thread and ask anyone on there if they are in your area with ducklings. I'm sure someone would be wiling to trade or sell :D

I have tried all of them and all the feedstores around any carry ducks around Easter and I check Craigslist every day I thought about online hatcheries and I cant get just one duck only 2 or more and I was lucky to convince my husband to let me get one lol

But thank you

I don't want to be the buzz kill, but ducks really need the company, so getting at least two is best for you and the duck. Why is your husband against getting ducks? Maybe someone on here can help with the selling points :)

Well we already have 3 genie pigs 2 cats 3 dogs that are out door and about 10 chickens so he said I can only get one that and we have never had ducks before so we are going to start out with one and when he falls in love with the duck witch I know he will we will get the duck a friend

I understand having to convince DH, I still haven't convinced mine to let me get ducks :( Maybe will just order them anyway lol! (I already have the shed cleaned out for them hehehe)
I haven't been able to find any in the breed I want locally, and other than a person selling pekin and roen, there's nothing on CL either....
@learning still, I have been thinking of asking for a pro-con of owning ducks to show th, maybe I should start a new thread on that....

You should really have a duck friend as soon as possible. They don't do well alone and (in extreme cases) could potentially imprint on you. Having one lone duck will be more work than having two, the same age, together. I know that a lot of places won't even sell just a single duck because of this reason.
