West Tennessee Thread

Looks like the West Tennessee thread needs a revival! Can I get a witness?

Seriously, though, we westerners need to stick together.

I'm between Memphis and Dyersburg, any further west I'd be in the river, and have just obtained my first six chicks - White Plymouth Rocks.

C'mon by and say hello!

Hello peoples! I'm in Milan. Between Milan and Bradford actually. I have around 100 + birds of all kinds. I have chickens, ducks, and geese. I would like to know about some shows or get togethers for my kids to show their birds off.

Hello to you Both, I am down South of you two and East of Memphis. Moscow TN. All of my young ones have grown out of that stage of showing so no help to you there.

Are your young'ens in 4H? My son joined a homeschool 4H club, but it wasn't what he expected (all paperwork, and no actual projects), so I allowed him to drop out. We had wanted to do a livestock project, but the leader was very discouraging, so I pretty much gave up when my son did.

Hi West Tennessee folks. I'm still not there yet, but plan on moving to Paris (hopefully in the summer). Glad the thread is still alive. I've subscribed so I can keep up with the happenings. A blessed rest of the week to everyone.

At Home On The Range is right! This thread has been a little dead! I've been hanging out over on the Middle Tennessee thread. They are pretty active. I'm in Memphis and have Speckled Sussex and Barnevelders. :D

I live in Huntingdon (Carroll County). I don't come on BYC as much as I used to but I was very glad to find this thread. I have had chickens for several years and would like to add ducks and maybe turkeys. I have a lot of problems with foxes and could not have chickens free range without a dog and they are behind an electric net fence at night. I have various dual purpose and a couple of OEG hens (mixed) so I am hoping to have some mamas to set chicks for me. I have a nephew in this county who raises OEG.

Huntingdon has a flea market every Tuesday except during the fair in August. This time of year there are lots of fowl and it is a good place to meet some of the folks from west TN. If the weather is bad there are less animals. Gleason TN in Weakley county has an auction on Sat that includes chickens. Facebook has a west TN poultry page.
