Westchester NY town wont allow pigeons in back yard?

I don't raise pigeons, just chickens but I read all the time about families being denied chickens an other livestock in their towns. Read the article and let me know your opinions! I for one am tired of hearing uneducated opinions about backyard coops.

the exact same thing happened in a town right next to me, a fairly rural town which explicitly allows cows, pigs, sheep and other farm type animals but did not specifically mention pigeons. While the guy was building his coop one of the neighbors started complaining that the pigeons would be bad for her sons asthma, her house was 50 yds. away, and listed 7 or 8 diseases pigeons could carry (most of which were far more common in parrots) i can't exactly remember but i think one of the other neighbors got some pigs and stuck them right against the complaining one's yard, since they were named in the law book. It does really annoy me when people complain about pigeons or chickens in the backyard when they have no idea what they're talking about.
