Wet Chickens!

I'm a total softie, I bring my wet ones inside and blow dry them. My husband has taken to referring to the bathroom as Pat's Chicken Beauty Parlor. Just to be a smart alec I ask them if they'd like my to rat their 'do up a bit more than last time or perhaps a perm? He just rolls his eyes....

Ours spend 6+ months out of the year in the wet and the wind. Only when the hens are in heavy molt, do I get concerned. Even then, I just up their protein and fat intake... Ours free range, so they are pretty much "always in it", whatever the weather may be. Ours do not receive any supplemental heat; though, it's rare for it to get below the 20's here.

Good choice. You typically wouldn't need to do that but with them soaking wet it'd be unsafe not to.

They can call me what they want to, my Big girls have an enclosed coop, and my 7 week olds have a small little coop,I still set up the brooder light for them at night.. it's in the 20's here in Louisiana.
