wet straw ?????

Thank you for your responses! I live in Kansas, and last year we got about a foot and half of snow... so not sure if the sand would be too cold for the chickens... I think it got to -13 degrees F also...

I live in the northwest where it rains all the time and all anyone ever uses in their pen is straw or woodchips and only rake it out once in the Spring.
