I was told today by a fellow at the feed store that you are supposed to wet the chicken starter feed. He mentioned this because he heard me telling someone I grind up the food for the babies. He talked me like I was imbecile and had no idea what I was doing.
Should I have been feeding wet mush rather than dry but ground up?

sounds like a know it all jerk. I have 17 bird....RIR and BR's and I have fed them dry food from day 1 and they are extremely happy and healthy birds.

I am convinced more and more everyday that people suck ! lol

Wow, thanks for all the different points of view. I had never heard of wetting it before so I didn't know of this guy was a crack-pot or not. I guess it's personal choice. My fear would be that if it were wet and didn't get eaten completely it would spoil.

my chickens love wet food.If they don't eat it up,i always smell to make sure its not sour.
