Daily Writing Prompt Thread Thingy It'll Be Fun

I found a prompt in here "Don't touch me."

I may or may not expand this in the future, I was just wanting to write something so this is what I got.
“Don’t touch me.” He growled.

Nyx started and backed away, “I- I wasn’t going to…”

“Good.” He turned and began to put distance between them, “Don’t bother staying, I have no interest in talking to you Nyx.”

Hurt flashed across her face, but she quickly tucked it away, “You know, if you actually stopped for a moment, you’d realize that I’m not her. Sharing blood with a wolf doesn’t define you, I’d have thought you would understand that better than anyone.” She called after him.

He stopped abruptly.

Knowing she had his attention she seized the chance. “I would never defend her. I would never justify what she did. You’ve made it abundantly clear you’re hurt and angry, but you’re not the only whose life has been affected by the actions of both of them, since the moment we were born.” Nyx’s fur bristled, “You’ve not been fair to us, you’re too blinded to see how LUCKY you are, at least you got a loving family. If, for whatever reason, you won’t give me that, give it to our brother.” She stared hard at the black wolf, who hadn’t turned or moved, “Please, Ash, let him have this one thing.”

Anyone got something? 🥺

Perfect timing with this prompt, I was just reading an old snippet I wrote a while ago and it kindof fits. Not exactly the same wording as the prompt.

Asili stopped in her tracks, her eyes flicking from one clump of underbrush to the next. She was getting that…squirmy feeling again, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. Something wasn’t right. Turning in a slow circle, she couldn’t see anything suspicious hidden in the greenery, but she was sure she’d heard something—there it was! There was the sound of a twig snapping, a rustle of leaves. Asili slowly pulled the pistol out of her pocket and curled both hands around the grip, finger resting on the trigger guard. She pointed the gun towards the sound, only to swing around as she heard another rustle behind her. I bet it’s one stinking fat squirrel, she thought. Her hands were sweating anyway.
The sound was getting closer…or, well, it was at least getting louder. Asili held her ground, gritting her teeth.
“I know you’re there,” she shouted, “and you better come out, or I swear I’ll blow your head off!”
There was a chuckle. Asili swung the gun around again, turning on her heel. Her finger twitched and curled around the trigger.
“I’m not scared of you,” she said.
The shadowy undergrowth shifted and revealed a human shape, the figure nudging branches aside and stepping into sight.
Asili gasped, pausing in shock.
Then she pulled the trigger.
Click.
Norah smirked. “Your safety’s on.”
Asili growled and turned the gun over in her hands, fiddling with the buttons on the side.
“You were actually going to shoot me, weren’t you?” Norah laughed. “ The Asili I know wouldn’tv’e had the guts to do that.”

Prompt: "I never thought you'd actually do it."
I don't typically share stuff on this topic, but this kinda made me think of this. This piece is inspired by something that truly happened, though this exact scene (and character name) is fictional. This is graphic and possibly triggering! I just wanted to share this because there are so many of us who don't realize our words can have grave impacts. :hugs

"I never thought you'd actually do it," the whispers barely escaped her sore throat.
She clenched the expensive roses to her chest that took her whole life's savings, yet still weren't enough. Why? Why did she have to say that to him? It was only a simple break-up. Only a small fight over him texting another girl. It wasn't supposed to end that way. Yeah, she never wanted to see him again, but she didn't want him dead. Or did she?
Tears staggered down her cheeks, blocking out his name on the marble gravestone. Flowers and other mementos lay at the stone's base, and an arch of blue flowers sat in the middle, placed by his grieving mother.
Tara sunk to the ground. "Why don't you go kill yourself!" The words haunted her brain for the millionth time since their fight two weeks ago.
"Maybe I will!" he had yelled back, storming to the back room and slamming the door behind him.
She squeezed her eyes shut. Her stomach twisted like it had in the moments that had followed.
The bang.
The gunshot.
His body.
It wouldn't leave her ears. It wouldn't leave her mind! Her body shook, a flood of tears ruining the roses.
"I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have said that! Please come back! Please come back! Please- I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry!"
