Whacky Genetics or Odd Sexlink?

Hello all,

I bred a Crele (cream legbar) cockerel to a silver laced (Wyandotte) hen. Two chicks hatched out of the eggs I set, one cockerel and one pullet. The cockerel was a silver/white color with incomplete barring (?) and the pullet was a golden color with incomplete lacing (?).
I used a simpler generics calculator and it said that both sexes should be golden or yellow/golden. Also, I am unable to do this cross again to see if it really us a sex linked cross.

(The cockerel ended up being more silver... in the pics if him it shows lots of barring but it eventually faded)

Makes sense to me even with the barring.
The father had two copies of barring and gave one to each offspring.
The mother only had 1 copy of silver and could only give it to her sons.
Therefore, cockerels should be silver and pullets should be gold.

I dont see any barring on the pullet though? Thats one of the things that I'm confused about as well..

Well it gets wacky because you mixed barring with lacing.
Lacing comes from a mutation of barring.
My best guess is that when offspring recieve one copy of barring and one copy of the lacing mutation than they don't express either as they mature and instead would have weird incomplete lacing/flecking.

That's a sex linked cross, The Pullets will hatch gold, the cockerels will hatch "Silver"(S/s+ Silver is completely dominant at hatch no amount of red enhancers will change that) and these cockerels will mature to be golden in color, Yellow/Cream usually with darker shoulders.

I would like to add that Lacing and sex linked barring are not allelic mutations as was previously mentioned on a post here, in fact one can have both a Pure laced bird that is also sex linked barred, that is why the "Wybar" autosexing breed was created, basically sex linked barring on top of Silver Laced Wyandotte that can be sex at hatch.

A pair of Autosomal Barring birds(based on ER, if they were on eb, the male would have been a black tailed silver instead)
