Last time we processed our birds we used some heavy duty scissors that worked but I’d like to get my wife something easier for her to use than the straight handled scissors for this next batch. I don’t want anything cheap I want something good that will last. I’m a buy once cry once person that likes quality tools.

OXO "Good Grips" take apart poultry sheers are consistently well rated across a host of sites. I watch Cooks Country/America's Test Kitchen. They'd none well there. Serious Eats rated them #1. I will say that I also watch Alton Brown, and he does NOT like them (because of the plastic handles), but most of the reviewers who do like them prefer the non metal handles.

The most important thing? They MUST come apart easily for complete and thorough cleaning.

American test kitchen said oxo chicken shears, so I got a pair and have been happy with them. Of course it's $3 more. Available lots of places

I kept seeing the oxo brand come up when searching but wasn’t sure if it was Chinese propaganda lol. Are they sharp and easy to squeeze I think her problem was having to use so much force on cutting necks her hands started hurting from wide open hand to squeeze.

They are sharp and I use them to part out heritage chickens and turkeys. I have sharpened them with a handheld sharpener, not sure what it is.
Well I'm retired and wear a women's large glove . Doesn't seem bad to me, her milage may very

Oxo specializes in kitchen gadgets, made en masse. Some of them are (much) less useful than others, and their knives are subpar, but I do like their sheers, and their kitchen scissor are pretty decent as well. I've been using their salad spinner so long they changed the design. Not my favorite tongs (I don't like locking tongs), but not bad, better than many.

There's often a marginally suprior product, but its often at a greatly higher price.

Shun, for instance, also very well respected. and near 3x the price.

Oxo on right, good grips on left. Both in position when not in use, left ones wider and harder to use for me. They live in the kitchen now.not used for processing.
