These would be my first and only birds ( I don’t plan on adding more because of my ordinances)Well it what’s your looking for
Will these be your first chickens
Or do you want more birds for your flock
I’m only allowed to get 3 so I was thinking of getting all different breeds and the breeds I was thinking of is an Easter Egger, a black Australop, and a Plymouth Rock. Or I was going to get all Easter Eggers not totally deciedMy vote was for starting with chicks.
Choosing what kind either from catalog or store.
Naming them and watching them grow.
Observing their different personalities and behavior as a groop.
The chickens will know your face and voice and if you get adults that may not be so.
Your choice. You know how much time you have to devote to them and chicks are a little more work. Once they are older and set up in ther coop chores are more routine.
Do you know what kind you are interested in?
Basically what age did you enjoy raiding them the most
If these are your first, then get chicks from a hatchery. Less likely to have a disease and be healthy on arrival. These would be my first and only birds ( I don’t plan on adding more because of my ordinances)
Do you mean get them shipped if so what’s better getting them shipped or getting them from a storeIf these are your first, then get chicks from a hatchery. Less likely to have a disease and be healthy on arrival.
Do your homework - figure out what breed(s) will suit your needs and have your coop/run ready before chicks arrive they grow quickly.
