Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his Egypt books were his first ones where he was getting into the groove of that kind of writing. I read them after Percy Jackson, (arguably the best of his seriesHow about Rick Riordan fans? I like just about all his books, particularly Magnus Chase but not the Egyptian gods books so much.

Goodreads saved my reading life. Somehow being able to track what books I'm reading and what books I've read before gets me more motivated.
