What’s going on with my girls voice??

Awwwwww look at him! Drake right?! And yes he does resemble my strudel noodle. Thanks for your response and picture! I could literally look at ducks all day long lol how old are yours again? When did you put them outside? How old and what’s your temps been like where you are?

Haha, they are twins... Almost. And I'm not sure of the gender yet, we've called him/her peach because she was making quacking noises, now s/he's making drake noises so god knows! My babies (2) must be about 9-10ish weeks now, and my original 3 (2 female, 1 male) ducks are about 7 and a half months old (I just worked that out, I can't believe it's been so long! Time flies). The babies aren't living fully outside yet, though they do go outside most days. The main reason they aren't living outside is that my older ducks act very territorial when the babies come outside. My drake runs at them when they get too close, even though one is his baby! Makes me sad to see, but they do seem to be slowly getting used to the babies being on their turf haha. The ducks sleep in our kitchen and watch TV with us on the living room, they are quite tame to be honest! I could look at ducks all day long too! I find them hilarious to watch as well... The way they tilt their head to get a better look haha. It's been anywhere from -2 to 12 degrees Celsius in England, when the ducks got let out in the morning and the mud was frozen, they looked at me as if they assumed I'd done it haha.

Awww congrats on your duck fam!! Thanks for the laugh too, ducks are so hilarious to me, each with such distinct personalities, I love it. Ok this settles it I think I need to bring my strudel and her buddy mo into the garage at night now with a heating lamp. I want her to be able to recoup state from whatever she’s got going on. I do hope it’s as simple that she is a drake and metzer farms made a mistake. Oh wait a minute that WOULDNT be good we already have a drake that’s why we got two more females for him. Oh boy, hoping it’s a cold that will run it’s course as I try what you all have shared with me. Thank you so much, again from the bottom of my now ducky obsessed heart.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to offer any professional advice on the issues with Strudel, in my honest opinion, I'd try to rule out the noise she makes to being her developing her quack, and the eye issue as a general injury... Ducks are very clumsy... But they are also very hardy and resilient birds! I would personally assume that because the eye has gotten better so quickly, that it may have been an accident (my ducks always hit their heads on things when shaking themselves) and not an infection. However I am very aware there are much more experienced people on here, and their advice probably holds more weight. Bringing the bird inside with a friend, and giving them vitamins (as suggested by others) would do good for the bird whatever the issue is, and will promote healing.

of course!! We’re going to transfer them to the garage with a heat lamp and let them drink ACV warmed up at night, thinking of trying this herbal duck tea recipe as well and see if she starts to improve. Then if she’s not better by the time the Baytil arrives then I’ll probably have to go that route if other symptoms keep popping up.
Oh and for fun my babies swimming
today. ( Blue Swedish drake Donald, white layer-my daisy girl, silver Apple yard is Mo “she be crazy! Lol” and the Saxony is my strudel )

Sounds like a good plan! And they are so adorable! I love ducks so much too, especially when they have the zoomies haha. You have a Jemima and Juliét! Well, more ducks with the same pattern as my girls haha
