What’s In A Name?

Pics
By the way the plant name Streptocarpus means "twisted fruit." If fertilization is successful the seed pod(fruit) grows long and slender- generally right before seeds are fully ripe, the pod will twist. You have to keep an eye on it because the twist will start to split open. That's when you need to wrap the pod in tissue or even end wrap from a beauty items shop and set it in a safe place (not near fans or drafts) so you can safely harvest the seeds .

Lol. My father called me sweet pea. My sister had a pet name too but i dont recall it. I think she was pumpkin. I didnt like being compared to a vegetable. I dont know why it bothered me but i guess as you grow older you forget things that dont matter and remember the things that made you who you are
I remember my mom sometimes calling me 'smart cookie' and sometimes 'smart potato'. When she called my sister smart cookie I would get mad because I wanted to be a cookie and not a potato. :gig:smack Little me logic.:idunno

When I joined, I was very heart broken. I had more males then females and it turned into a nightmare. My flock was self destructing. I was very upset I had to re-home three males including my favorite one. The flock made their own decision of who had to go, I just had to accept what they decided and do what was best for everyone. Hence the pun in my name. My friend sent me the pic that I use as my avatar although it's a male duck in my avatar, I am female. I just thought the pic was awesome.
OMG! I am just now seeing there were many posts to this thread after I thought it was a “dead thread.” :gig I’m a poet and didn’t know it! I’m so upset. I abandoned my own thread. Dang it!

I love how you chose your name, even though it is kind of sad. However, I hope all is well with your duckie flock now.
