Well, seeing as this IS a NAME thread, would either of y’all care to expound on the meaning of B’s name? You’ve peaked my curiosity.Oh boy!! Don’t get me started on B!
I never liked her. Other than the night she slipped me a roofy.
I was entering a raffle... then visiting my new dog.Wake up Ralphie. Surely that roofy has worn off by now!
The standard seems to have been set with Sour’s username explanation. Now surely there’s more to yours than that!MGG is my initials. That's it
Hello fEvery time I am on BYC I always try to figure out how people come up with their “user name.” I may be the only one who tries to figure these out, but I’ll bet not.
Some names are straight forward like,
JaneDoeor maybe with a birthdate or year,
JaneDoe42689JaneDoe1989and some even tell us where they’re from,
AllisonALDallasDanor what birds they have/love,
50YardBirdsDanaDominiquessome that you’d think are men, but are women and some that are women that you’d think are menand on, and on, and on!
The possibilities are endless.
I hope everyone’s curiosity is peaked and willing to share and I will start.
Mimi’s 13
Being a Mimi is what allowed me to even begin keeping birds. I quit work to keep my third grandson 4 months before he was born. It was during this time that I convinced my DH that homegrown eggs would be much better for him; went to a nearby breeder and brought home 6 little fluffy chicks; ordered a prefab coop that never would have housed 6 chickens let alone the 8 it advertised
; and began turning an unused dog kennel into a chicken run fit for royalty. Not really, but it was secure.
13 Nope, not the number of chickens I have or the number of kids I have. It’s just my LUCKY number; however, it has never won me any money, dad gummit!
That’s the story of Mimi’s 13.
Now tell me yours.![]()
Hello from 2hotchicks. I got my first (and only) ladies in September 2019. My first concern in getting 2 pullets in the fall in Indiana was keeping them warm. However, it turned out to be an unseasonably warm fall & heat was a problem, thus "2hotchicks."Every time I am on BYC I always try to figure out how people come up with their “user name.” I may be the only one who tries to figure these out, but I’ll bet not.

I’m glad it was a warm fall and not cold. “2hotchicks” is a much better username than “2coldchicks.” However, “2chillychicks” is pretty cute!Hello f
