What’s In A Name?

While I do enjoy edible gardening I grow surprisingly few herbs, go figure. Even with parsley, I grow root parsley which is mainly eaten for the root itself (I substitute it for parsnips sometimes).
I wish I knew more about growing things like that or even more about edible wild plants like dandelion and such. Really, all I know anything about are the old standards like beans, corn, tomatoes, okra, squash, ... you get the point. I did plant a bunch of herbs two years ago, mainly because I wanted cilantro and I thought I could give some of them to the chickens, but I don’t know how to properly use them. :idunno

I like Pork Pies and I miss them when I'm not in the UK. Somebody on a RR thread suggested that I change my username to Pork Pie, so I did

Now that looks scrumptious and I don’t know why we don’t have such here in the US. Oh my gracious, even the little sweet pickles, I love them. I love pork, eat BBQ all the time, and I love pie so I know I’d love pork pie. I guess I’ll have to stick with my chicken pot pies. But I do like them a lot too! :drool

See, this is so neat to know the “whys” behind our names.

Wow I never new that was the source for the name.... I first met you on either OZs thread or a San Diego thread.... I simply thought it had to to with chicken drumsticks
Not Cape Primrose .... which are related to African violets....

I thought chicken legs too. Who wouldn’t?

Naw Highschool somewhere around 1970 ish....

:lau Kids today would have no clue what we’re even talking about.

Also, I meant to say before that I took your name to mean something along the lines of “chickens perching.” I had no idea it was about Percherons. I too love horses and we have six, but they are all Western related, roping, cutting, pleasure. :love But they are now mostly pasture ornaments and money suckers. My oldest son thought it’d be fun to start riding bulls , which he did for a few years. Thought he could win some money. :gig Yeah, no, it didn’t quite work like that. :he

When I first joined BYC, my member name was NorthFLChick because I lived in north Florida at the time. When I moved away from FL, needed a change to something that wasn't so geographical and just took the initials...NFC. Some members on here called me that anyway and it beat KFC. :gig

Ha, that’s funny and even stranger was I never put those two together, NFC v KFC. Right there under my nose and it never entered my mind.
