Yea she is a day old now. I’m assuming she will be blind this is her good side

Just with the luck I had this summer it’s infectious and kills all these chicks I been biting at my nails for! After these birds I’ll be happy for a while!

I have a chicken who has some trouble with her eyes. She’s not completely blind but she has difficulty with her depth perception. She has to line herself up properly and make multiple pecks to correct her position before she can hit whatever it is she wants. It hasn’t affected her quality of life at all. I’m sure your chick will be fine and will adjust as necessary. I would keep a close eye on it until you see it accessing food and water on its own though.

The right eye is nearsighted to look for food and the left is farsighted to watch for predators, iirc.
