So I have a small flock, and two of the hens, my two rustic ramblers, have this white stuff that keeps crumbling on their vent. They also let out air that causes a squirty sound (yes, sorry, I know, gross). It’s been like this now for weeks. One of the girls, I had a different post about her (https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-just-removed-it.1544886/page-2#post-26080868), had something come out of her that I removed in a panic without consulting anyone, ignorant, I know. I don’t think there was ever a clear answer on what it was, but I’m worried.

Here’s a video:

Awe. Hi. Thank you for asking. They seem great! I checked them yesterday, still a little wet and pasty. I don’t understand what it is. Or why it’s happening to the two sisters. But they act fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Someone mentioned diet. Is it really bad for me to give them treats? I understand it can be difficult to assess a birds weight visually, but they (in another thread, I think) said it could be a result of being overweight.

Can you elaborate on what you're feeding them? I would stop all "treats," and go with just commercial feed right now.
