What’s Wrong With My Rooster?

Since I first checked on the chickens this morning, my rooster has been making an odd noise. It’s a soft noise and he seems like he does it with every breath. It’s occasionally punctuated with a sharp squeak, almost like a hiccup. He hasn’t stopped all morning. Could he possibly have a respiratory infection or something? Everything else seems normal. I posted a video:

I had posted this in the ‘behavior’ forum, but I’m starting to think it’s more serious than I first realized.

I think it's quite possible that he has a respiratory infection. Is a vet an option?

I’ve noticed my chickens doing that every once in awhile. It’s usually when they eat to fast. He possibly has something stuck in his throat.

A vet is an option, but not until in the morning. I’m going to check and see if I have any antibiotics that would work for a respiratory infection just in case.

Likely he has something stuck in his throat or may have aspirated some water while drinking too fast.

How is your rooster doing? Did you take him to the vet?

I fed the bread soaked in oil and he stopped making the noise by the next day. But today he started making it again. I’m going to worm them all, and I started putting VetRx in their water today. I just added a couple of drops, but they’re all avoiding it so far. I think I’m going to put some on his beak and under his wings which won’t be much fun for either of us - he HATES being messed with.
