Hi! I’m posting this thread in regards to my duck zoom, I’ve had my three ducks for a few weeks now and they are getting pretty old and getting all their feathers but zoom is the one duck I’m concerned about.. he’s (or she I don’t know for sure yet) is making a lot of noise and doing a sort of panting motion he’s been doing it for a few days and I’ve narrowed it down, I don’t think it’s niacin amount he eats a food specially formulated for waterfowl, He has plenty of water deep enough and a pool he swims in everyday so I don’t think there’s food in his nose or throat, it’s not hot because he does it sometimes at night when it’s not even cold..? Please help (video below no I don’t have the heat lamp on them I put it in for a few seconds to see them it was dark)

We've been receiving an influx of people regarding this same problem and with the same breed, It's usually due to too much heat, although a few people reported them doing this even in cool conditions so the consensus is unless Pekins are in a somewhat cool area they may start panting to an extent, If they start showing other symptoms like gasping for air, sneezing or general lethargy they'd definitely need to be looked at, but if they are just panting slightly I wouldn't be too concerned.

What are the temps in their pen throughout the day/night? You could post a video if you want us to make sure its not something else.

i recently saw a post similar and it turns out their duckling has a stuffy nose. Apparently Duck noses can get stuffed with dust from bedding, fluff, lint, etc. Try a few hours outside (away from bedding) and see if that helps

They are outside all day and go in the duck box at night and he still does it all day so😬

True, but the OP is providing nose deep water so that shouldn't be a problem.

around the mid 60s

I would like to see a video, and I just noticed the waterer in their pen, that is not deep enough so they can clean their nares out with.
I’m trying to get a video they have that water as well as a deep bucket in their box that waterer is just extra incase they drink it all and I’m still asleep, when they go out in the day they also have a pool and a super deep 7 gallon waterer
