Most hatcheries ship on Monday or Wednesday and they will be delivered to your local post office for pick up on a Wednesday or Friday.

Nope, no dumb questions! Mine shipped on Monday and I got them on Wednesday, because the post office messed up and sent them on a statewide jaunt. I ended up having them hold the package at a post office a couple counties over, otherwise it would have been the next day. Other older birds from elsewhere I've gotten in less than 24 hours. As long as they're packaged well, which Meyer seems to do, they should be ok. Just tell your postmaster that they should call you WHENEVER the truck gets in, day or night. That way they won't sit around the PO.

I don’t know if it’s still okay to ask questions, but if it is here it goes.

This might sound like a dumb question but I just want to have every thing prepared and ready for the chicks to jump into the brooder and start their new lives.
So it says the chicks will be shipped the week of 8/13/18. Does this mean the chicks will be shipped on Monday the 13, or does Meyer hatchery do it some other way with the dates? Also if they do ship on the 13, do they arrive the bext day, or a couple to a few days later?

Once again, sorry if this sounds like a dumb question!

It usually means they'll hatch on the 13 and be shipped a little less than a day later. You should get them the 14 or 15, depending on how far you live away from the hatchery

That makes me feel much better! The whole reason we’re ordering chicks is to try and get a Mille Fleur roo. Sadly, ours passed away and we need one to make a breeding pair. If I get one and it’s even near as pretty as yours I’ll be very happy.

That's not a dumb question at all, so please don't feel as though it is. Like others said, Monday is hatch day at Meyer, which means they would ship on the 13th. Depending on where you're located, it's generally a couple days after shipment you'll receive them. Any longer than that could potentially be harmful to the babies, as they'll require substantial nourishment a maximum of 3 days after hatch (which is about as long as the yolk will sustain them). Since I live in Ohio, I believe we received our chicks the next day.
