I have NO home television.
I have internet when I am at school or when Mom works late shift (6-11) and I got with her.

YET, in my civics class I got a 10 (OMG A 10!!!) on a TEST because we were supposed to watch the debate between obama and mccain.

I discussed BEFORE class was out when it was assigned about how i didn't have access and she said okay, no problem don't worry about it!

I get my grade today and ask her NICELY about it. She said OH WELL sounds like a PERSONAL problem!!!!!!!!!!! I have a super short temper and asked her what can I do since I TOLD her. She told me to go sit down and accept my grade. I said we'll see how well my mom accepted it (4.6 gpa and proud of it

) She said get over it.

This needs to be taken to someone else at school (principal or counseler). This is wrong what the teacher did, especially since you told her ahead of time.

Hope you can get a good compromise worked out. Good luck.

I will tell now, my dear, there is NO reason to take that from a teacher when you have made your lack of access clear ahead of time. I get so mad at teachers that have that " I don't give a poop attitude. MAKES ME MAD. Talk to the principal, write a letter to the school board and tell that fummy you did it too!

agree with debiraymond; it is NOT fair for you to be penalized because you didn't have access to watch the debate, and ESPECIALLY since you notified her ahead of time. Talk to the principal, and if that does no good, make sure you are quite visible and vocal at the next school board meeting or parent/teacher association (or whatever they call it now)...

You really do need to stand up for yourself in this issue. It is not fair, and the teacher attitude is a reason to fight it. It would different if the teacher was understanding, but apparently he/she is not. Been there done that with my son.
