Yep, the price is high due to a computer chip embeded in the key.

Just wait until you have to replace the ignition switch...

This thread makes me really glad I decided to keep my 14-year-old car and just fix it when it breaks. The starter went out on it a few months ago; the part cost us $75.00 and DH put it on.

I can get a new key made at WalMart.
