What a Tease ! Coop sitting there and can't use it

I got a free coop, rabbit hutch, and breeding pen that are all pretty well built, just need some refinishing. No one can help me that I know. I posted an request up here, but you know it gets kind of hectic and I understand if people are busy. I intend to get it loaded into that dang truck on my own and get it into my pasture. I dare anyone to tell me I can't do it. If I can move a large wooden futon frame from my loft upstairs down my narrow staircase and back into my living room I can get a coop into a truck bed and back out again.

I believe you can do it. You just have to have the will and the drive and you will find a way.

I can understand your frustration. Mother Nature sure likes to throw us the occasional curve ball, huh? The roller ideas sound like a great idea. Of course if it's THAT big, you'll need help just laying it on its side to get it rolling. I hope you can find some help and hope to see pictures soon. Good luck! If I lived around you, I'd be more than happy to come lend a hand.

That's an idea, Im actually going to look on craiglist under services, it was free so I can pay someone something to move it, I was actually considering calling my friend and say I'll take the other one before he junks it, but then I'd have two coops sitting out front

Remember, too, you don't have to move it all in one day if that's too big of a job. Break the job into sections that you can manage, a bit every day or couple of days. That's how I got sand into my big run without working myself into exhaustion.

Get enough people and you CAN move it. Think old school, really old school. The Egyptians moved huge blocks of stone.....with lots-o-people. Of course they also used whips, but....well maybe that would help too! No, really though, get something under it for handles (2x4's?) and a bunch of people, call in all the favors you can.

I am also one of those people that don't like to hear from my friends "you can move that by yourself". Remeber the 7 simple machines?

With these you can do it! Since we don't know what the coup looks like and the condition of the yard it makes it tough to give a good suggestion, but here's one. How about dragging it with brute force through the slop. Get yourself a come along (a form of pulley). You can usually get them pretty cheap from Harbor Freight (at least here in Michigan), might need 2 I dunno. You will need a good anchor like a tree or as I did one time moving a 500 pound boulder drive several stakes deep in the ground and use that as your anchor. Hook up the come along and pull it one inch at a time. As someone else suggested maybe do it over several days. You could use this method in combination with the pvc pipes (a form of a wheel) under it. Use a lever (2x4) to lift it up to get the pipes underneath. Get us some pics and I bet we can tell you how to do it. Know this though, it can be done! Go into with that attitude and you WILL make it happen!!!

My husband built parts of our new coop in the garage this winter but they were waaay too heavy to move out of there so...he put some wheels on one end and some skis on the other and down the backyard it went without a hitch!
