I don't think it's going to be easy. No buisness is easy but it could be fun and I would have help. My landlady's daughter is also involved in this as well as the land lady herself. IT's kind of a group thing.
About the chicken price, I spoke to several farmer markets in the area even the Flea Market. That's the price range that they all told. One guy said he made more then $500 selling his chickens and roos at the flea market on a SINGLE saturday. He said that if you keep them looking good, healthy, well maintain and having good information on them, they can run pretty good. He also said pure breds can also be entered in fairs and the prizes there are pretty good on money (Im leaving that up to the kids. ANything they win, will go to their college savings. Good education for them).
Right now, Im having 10 chicks that Im raising. We are adding more a little at a time. Hubby is working on clearing up the OLD chicken coop behind my house which is right now over grown (hasnt been used for 10 years) and also cleaning up the chicken coop at the land lady's house that is also overgrown.
I know it's goign to take time to get things smooth but Im sure the hard work and time will be rewarding later. Just have to keep your head in the game.
